Ventyx®, the world’s largest private software, data and advisory services provider to the energy and utility industry, today announced the Ventyx Nuclear and Plant Management Leadership Webcast Series featuring case studies from some of the world’s leading nuclear plant operators in terms of reliability, safety and capacity factor performance. The series, which begins in early December, will feature success stories from world-renowned plant operations champions, including Dominion Power, Entergy, Exelon, First Energy, FPL and Xcel Energy.

“Ventyx clients in nuclear represent a veritable ‘Who’s Who’ of top performers in all key measures of plant operations management,” said Ventyx President and COO Steve Carpenter. “These world-class organizations are driving fresh thinking and innovative approaches to plant management and nuclear operations that have enabled them to improve process safety, asset reliability and efficiency—all while reducing costs and minimizing the risks associated with an aging workforce. We are pleased to provide a platform for these thought leaders to share their best practices with industry peers around the world.”

The series kicked off on December 8 with a Webcast entitled “Clever Clearances,” which includes presentations from Neal Pond of Florida Power & Light (FPL). You can access the archived version of this  Webcast here:

“This Webcast series highlights the unparalleled operations record and standard of excellence of nuclear operators, particularly the U.S. nuclear fleet,” said Carpenter. “As identified in a recent press release by the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI), U.S. plants achieved half of the top 50 capacity factors among the world’s 439 reactors. In the U.S., Ventyx is proud to claim 48 of the 50 top capacity factor performers as clients. We’d especially like to congratulate our clients at Calvert Cliffs 2 and Duke Power’s Catawba 2 (the top two performers, with capacity factors of 101.37 percent and 101.36 percent, respectively), and the Tennessee Valley Authority’s (TVA’s) Sequoyah 1 and Entergy Nuclear’s Indian Point 3 in the list of the world’s top 10 performers last year. Exelon is also to be congratulated for their newly established world record run at TMI-1 with 705 days of continuous operation. Our nuclear clients are truly world-class!”
