Bright Futures across EDF Energy

EDF Energy is searching for new talent for its Bright Futures programme, with the deadline for this year’s applicants fast approaching.

More than 40 positions are on offer across the programme, including graduate schemes and industrial placements, with the deadline for applications on Friday 7 June to start with EDF Energy in September 2012.

Recruits are needed for every EDF Energy Business Unit – Nuclear Generation, Nuclear New Build, Corporate functions and Energy Sourcing and Customer Supply.

Ali Stripling, Future Capability & Early Careers Manager, said: “EDF Energy is offering exciting opportunities within an industry that’s growing and vital to the UK. We’re looking for a broad range of exceptional people to join us. There are no limits to what the right people can achieve with EDF Energy, as they help us to deliver safe, secure and affordable low carbon electricity to the UK.”

Around 23 posts are on offer through the company’s graduate schemes in nuclear science and engineering, sustainability, materials, human factors and ergonomics and business project analyst posts.

The 20 posts through the 12 month Industrial Placement schemes include nuclear science and engineering, environmental science, sustainability, human factors, IT, information security, supply chain and commercial management and business analyst roles.

Successful applicants gain experience across the business during their placements at EDF Energy, providing valuable insight into the energy industry.

The graduate and industrial placement schemes cover a number of sites in London and the South East including offices at Hove, Worthing and Crawley, Dungeness B nuclear power station and offices in London at Victoria, Bexleyheath and Southwark.

EDF Energy is one of the UK’s largest energy companies and the largest producer of low-carbon electricity, producing around one-sixth of the nation’s electricity from its nuclear power stations, wind farms, coal and gas power stations and combined heat and power plants. The company supplies gas and electricity to more than 5.5 million business and residential customer accounts and is the biggest supplier of electricity by volume in Great Britain.
