More than 100 responses have already been received, with more anticipated by Friday’s deadline (7 September), which will assist in a re-evaluation of the decommissioning supply chain and establish whether any revisions are needed to the NDA’ Supply Chain Development Strategy.
The NDA first carried out a ‘Health of the Supply Chain’ consultation in 2008 which helped to shape its strategy and led to a series of initiatives, including regular publishing and updating of SLC and NDA Procurement Plans.
A healthy and vibrant supply chain is critical to the NDA’s decommissioning clean-up mission. Last year, spending at the Tier 2 level in the supply chain was £1.6 billion across the NDA estate.
Ron Gorham, NDA Head of Supply Chain, said: “Five years on, the NDA believes a further review will help to identify what is working well and whether improvements are needed.”
Independent research company, ORC International is conducting the survey and is working with V4 Services Ltd. All feedback will remain anonymous. In-depth interviews are also being conducted during August and September with selected Tier 2, 3 and 4 suppliers.
