UK decommissioning in Japan

The NDA is currently supporting UKTI on an initiative in Japan to highlight UK Nuclear decommissioning capability.

A number of activities have taken place over the past year to develop interest from Japanese companies and to develop confidence in the capability available within the UK.  The importance of this has been recognised, and a full time member of staff has been deployed at the Embassy in Tokyo to support this work.
A Government- Government dialogue has taken place and a trade mission has been planned at the end of November to increase the visibility of UK companies within the Japanese market. To support this momentum a directory of UK nuclear capability (see web-link below) is being developed.
The development of the directory will provide a first point of contact for Japanese companies wishing to consider the capabilities of firms within the UK market. In addition it will provide information for Japanese companies attending the trade mission.

The UKTI flyer link on the website provides details on how to submit an entry for your organisation. Please note that providing an entry into the directory does not create an obligation to attend the trade event but will provide an opportunity to advertise the services of your company within the Japanese market.
The website makes reference to a deadline of 5 October. Please note that while this deadline will be extended it would be helpful if you could make mailto: sumie.ogiwara@fco.gov.uk aware of your intention to submit information at the first opportunity.
