The event follows last month’s announcement that Hitachi Limited is to acquire Horizon in a deal which is likely to complete at the end of November.
As with previous monthly Open Surgeries, Horizon’s project team will be on hand between 1pm and 7pm to answer questions and listen to feedback on plans for a new nuclear power station at Wylfa.
Alan Smith, Head of Site Development at Horizon Nuclear Power, said: “We’re delighted that Horizon’s work will continue under Hitachi and the news marks the opening of a new chapter for the company and our project at Wylfa. The sale is expected to complete by the end of November and following this we will begin working with our new owners to assess the options for developing our sites and likely development timelines. “We will share more information about our updated proposals with the local community in the months ahead when the transition to new owners has fully completed.
In the meantime, I would like to thank local people for their continued support and patience over recent months and would encourage anyone with questions to pop along to our next Open Surgery and we’ll do our best to answer them at this early stage in the process.” Anyone with questions can also contact Horizon by calling its Wylfa information line on 0800 954 9516 or by emailing mailto: firstname.lastname@example.org
