Bradwell and Traws progress towards care and maintenance

Bradwell and Trawsfynydd sites are following an accelerated decommissioning programme with the intention of becoming the first UK reactor sites to enter care and maintenance in 2015 and 2016 respectively.

Acceleration is a key element of the Magnox Optimised Decommissioning Programme which sets out a strategy for the ten sites operated by Magnox on behalf of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority.

Progress is being been made on all of the major programme delivery areas including plant and structures decommissioning, cooling ponds, intermediate level waste management, fuel element debris treatment and waste.

You can watch short films about both sites here.
