ONR faces the ongoing challenge of delivering its objectives within the context of a rapidly changing regulatory environment, nuclear industry sector and economic climate and it is anticipated that ONR will become a Public Corporation in April 2014.
As an executive member of the ONR Board, this is a high profile role and you will be the authoritative regulatory head of ONR’s regulatory functions, ensuring effective enforcement and independence and maintaining a visible oversight of all regulatory decisions. You will engage at the highest levels across and beyond ONR, providing authoritative advice to Ministers, Parliament and our other stakeholders.
As Chief Nuclear Inspector, you will bring significant experience and outstanding technical ability, gained in a high level regulatory assurance role in the nuclear, or similar high hazard and complex industry. You will have the personal integrity, credibility and resilience to undertake this role under increasing public scrutiny, together with the leadership and influencing skills required to maintain outstanding performance and drive business critical change.
