Hinkley deal to strengthen China nuclear supply chain
The United Kingdom’s $26bn deal to build Hinkley Point C, a two-reactor, 3.2 gigawatt station led by French energy giant EDF, is expected to lift the China nuclear energy establishment, according to analysts.
The two China’s state-owned China General Nuclear Power Corp (CGN) and China National Nuclear Corp (CNNC) will have a 30 to 40 per cent stake between them in the project, which leads the way for Chinese firms to take majority stakes in nuclear power projects in the future.
