Frazer-Nash has competitively secured a five year framework contract to support the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) in its regulatory activities related to new build, power generation, decommissioning and defence sectors.
Frazer-Nash was selected both for its long standing track record in the delivery of relevant projects and for the calibre and experience of its staff. The contract covers five technical disciplines and provides Frazer-Nash with the opportunity to extend the level of support it provides to the ONR.
The contract builds on a four year history of working with the ONR for Frazer-Nash, it previously deployed its expert personnel to provide the ONR with an independent view on the adequacy of the safety case for the control and instrumentation systems of nuclear new build designs proposed for the UK. This work contributed to the Generic Design Assessment process.
Philip Rogers, Business Manager at Frazer-Nash, said: “We are really proud to have supported the ONR in the past and we are excited about the potential to support the organisation in a much wider range of technical disciplines than we have previously.
“Over the years the nuclear pedigree of our business as a whole and the specific technical experience of our staff has gone from strength to strength. We recognise the importance of strong regulation, including independent review, to the safety of the nuclear industry and are pleased to have the opportunity to play our part”.
