Dr Timothy Stone CBE, Expert Non-Executive Member for the Board of the European Investment Bank and Non-Executive Director for the Anglian Water Group; Mr Masahide Tanigaki, Advisor to CEO for Hitachi Ltd., Chairman of the Board for Hitachi-GE Nuclear Energy Ltd; and Mr Katsumi Nagasawa, Vice President and Executive Officer for Hitachi Ltd. and President and CEO of Power Systems Company, have joined the Board as Non-Executive Directors of Horizon Nuclear Power.
The three new appointees join Chairman of the Board, Mr Masaharu Hanyu, Chief Executive of Hitachi’s Nuclear Power Systems Business in Europe; Sir Stephen Gomersall, Deputy Chairman of Hitachi Europe Ltd.; Mr Duncan Hawthorne, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bruce Power and Mr Sanghoon Lee, General Manager, Finance, Nuclear Power Group, Hitachi Europe Ltd. on the Board of Directors. Mr Nagasawa replaces Mr Tatsuro Ishizuka, Representative Executive Officer, Executive Vice President and Executive Officer, President & CEO, Power Systems Group and Infrastructure Systems Group, Hitachi, Ltd.

The appointments come as Horizon is undertaking a 10-week period of public consultation on its new build plans at its lead site, Wylfa Newydd. The consultation is the first major step in the planning process for the development and will cover all aspects of Horizon’s proposals, taking in everything from construction, to transport, to how the proposals might affect the Welsh language and the economy of the region: www.horizonnuclearpower.com/consultation
