DBD wins Urenco COSER contract

DBD Limited has won the contract to produce the Continued Operations Safety and Environment Reports (COSERs) for two facilities at Urenco’s Capenhurst site near Chester. DBD Limited is a UK based international company specialising in Safety, Engineering, Technical and Environmental work throughout the nuclear sector.

Ric Carrick, URENCO’s Chief Nuclear Officer told Nuclear Matters, “URENCO UK Limited are working closely with the supply chain to establish efficient and long term relationships in the delivery of a range of safety and environmental campaigns that support the continued operation of the Enrichment Plants and various Support Facilities at Capenhurst. DBD offer an approach that is totally consistent with our own values of collaboration, quality, delivery and value for money in the production of fit for purpose safety cases. Partnerships of this nature do not happen by accident but require real effort by both parties to be successful, creating a joint team that ensures that the sum of the organisations provides a stronger arrangement than working individually. The early stages of our arrangement with DBD has proven very positive and we are keen to explore with them the full potential of what can be achieved.”

Responding to the news of the contract award Marie Carlick, Managing Director of DBD said, “I’m absolutely thrilled on behalf of all our team that Urenco UK have selected DBD to carry out this crucial work which will underpin continued safe operations for our customers facility. Our shared values of collaboration and innovation have underpinned this success and we look forward to delivering this work and building a long term relationship with such an important customer”
