European Nuclear Young Generation Forum gains new sponsor

The European Nuclear Young Generation Forum (ENYGF) 2017 which will take place in Manchester 11 – 16 June has gained risk, safety and human factors consultancy CRA as its Stationery Sponsor.

ENYGF will bring together students and young professionals from across the nuclear sector; providing an international platform for knowledge transfer and sharing of best practice. This biennial event was last held in Paris in 2015, and featured over 350 delegates from 27 different countries.

For the first time in its history, ENYGF is coming to the UK; thus, this year’s event is being organised by the UK Nuclear Institute’s Young Generation Network (YGN) on behalf of the European Nuclear Society.

The theme for ENYGF 2017 is “Innovation in Nuclear: a Rich Heritage and our Bright Future”. The theme reflects on the UK’s history as the first nation to have a commercial nuclear power station as well as looking forward at the UK and global nuclear power ambitions. The forum programme includes expert speakers, interactive workshops and technical tours to nuclear facilities around the UK, alongside extensive networking opportunities with leading technical experts.

CRA Chief Executive, Jasbir Sidhu said: “CRA is a keen supporter and advocate for the development of the next generation of nuclear professionals. ENYGF is a great opportunity for CRA to meet with the industry’s emerging talent, exchange knowledge and share insights from our work projects. We are looking forward to attending the event and spending time learning with and from the nuclear industry’s experts, innovators and rising stars.”

Alys Gardner, Chair of the YGN said, “It is fantastic to have an innovative company like CRA on board as a sponsor of ENYGF. The forum is a once-in-a-career opportunity for people to take part in a conference which showcases the innovative work that young nuclear professionals undertake in the UK and globally. This is an opportunity to shape the future of the nuclear industry. I strongly encourage young professionals to get involved, with ENYGF and with the numerous other events that the YGN runs each year. It is crucial that we support the future leaders of our industry and provide them with the knowledge and skills required to deliver a safe and sustainable future for nuclear energy. With the registration deadline fast approaching, please visit www.enygf.org to book your place.”
