Horizon Talks to Local Community about Wylfa Newydd at October Open Surgery
Horizon Nuclear Power, a company to develop nuclear power in the UK formed in 2009 an acquired in 2012 by Hitachi Ltd, is inviting local people to meet the team at its next Open Surgery in Cemaes on Monday 16 October to learn more about the Wylfa Newydd Project.
The monthly Open Surgeries are held on the third Monday of every month and this time, the Horizon team will be gathered at Cemaes Village Hall between 1.30pm and 7pm.
Horizon’s staff will be on hand to talk to local people about the proposed work currently taking place in and around the communities closest to the Wylfa Newydd site, in addition to providing information about other parts of the busy Project.
Richard Foxhall, Horizon’s Stakeholder Relations Manager, said: “Our Open Surgeries are a great way for people to learn more about the Project and ask us any questions they have. Besides the information on our website, meeting members of our local team in person also gives people the chance to get to know us better and ask any questions they may have on our current work programme on the Wylfa Newydd site.
“We’ve got lots of exciting work taking place at the moment, including our community archaeology digs, various ground investigations and preparations to construct two new bat barns in the next couple of months. With all this activity, we’ve got lots of progress to share and look forward to meeting with people in their community.”
Horizon’s development on Anglesey will represent a multibillion pound investment in North Wales, creating high-quality, long term employment opportunities and unlocking lasting economic and social benefits for the region.
