This is the latest routine quarterly report on the progress of Generic Design Assessment (GDA) of the AP1000® and UK EPR™ reactors. It follows the issuing of interim design acceptance by ONR and the Environment Agency in December 2011.

This seminar formed part of our consultations on the Generic Design Assessment (GDA) of two new nuclear reactor designs (AP1000 submitted by Westinghouse and UK EPR submitted by EDF and AREVA).
This builds on a discussion paper published in May 2009 and takes into account the feedback received from stakeholders. It sets out the outcomes that can be expected in June 2011, when we complete our assessment of the safety case of the designs.
